Hi friends! Just popping in quickly to share an easy and delicious recipe for the “big game” that’s coming up this weekend!
I say “big game” in quotations because, if we’re being honest, I really don’t care for either of the teams playing. In fact, it’s rare that I have much of a preference one Super Bowl team over another. Let’s just say that being from Upstate New York and living in Ohio doesn’t leave a whole lot to root for come NFL playoff time…

So alas, we put away the comfort food and settle for a plate full of baked chicken and steamed broccoli instead (not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course – but it likely won’t satisfy those comfort food cravings) (more…)

The Snacking Fallacy

When executed properly, snacks can provide key nutrients, fill nutritional gaps in our diet, curb cravings, and perhaps even help with weight management.
But choosing the right snack is not always easy – especially when your goals include taste, nutrition, and convenience. In fact, the task may seem overwhelming, or even impossible to those who are unfamiliar with the process. That’s why I’m so excited to share this new book with you today. (more…)

Happy 2017, friends!
It’s hard to believe another year has come and gone. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and the happiest of New Years.
I’m not usually one to get all sentimental at the end of the year (after all, does anything reallllly change once the clock strikes midnight?), but I couldn’t help be feel a hint of nostalgia set in when I started to think about everything that has happened over the past 12 months. 2016 definitely had its fair share of ups and downs, but I’m happy to report that, overall, the ups far exceeded the downs. I graduated from my dietetic internship, passed the exam to (finally!) become a Registered Dietitian, moved into an apartment that I love, traveled out west (twice!), visited 2 national parks, hiked a glacier,
completed survived my first semester of graduate school, and got engaged! It’s been a busy, stressful, exciting and eventful year for sure. Who knows what 2017 will bring, but right now I’m kind of hoping it’s a nap because I’m exhausted just thinking about everything that happened last year. (more…)
