Happy Cyber Monday, cyber friends! I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend that left your hearts and your bellies full.

There was certainly no shortage of delicious food to be had around here (and no shortage of delicious leftovers, either!) If you happen to follow me on Instagram, then you probably know that I’ve been enjoying leftovers for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
And it’s. been. glorious. (more…)

Giving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

Just popping in quickly to wish you all a wonderful holiday. I hope your day is filled with family, friends, and all sorts of delicious eats. And most importantly, I hope you take some time today in between bites of turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes to reflect on what it is you’re thankful for.

I will be the first to admit, I don’t always take the time to appreciate the little things in life nearly as much as I should. But lately I have been making a conscious effort to take a step back and really reflect on just how fortunate I am. Is my life perfect? Absolutely not. But instead of focusing on the negative or things that I wish were different, I’m making a commitment to change my perspective. Because, as one of my friends recently reminded me, “Sometimes stepping back and forcing yourself to see something in a different light, or getting someone else’s perspective on something you have a preconceived notion on can do wonders”.

This year, more than ever, there is just SO much to be thankful for.

As always, I’m thankful for my health; for a family who supports me no matter what; and for my friends – both old and new, near and far.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to pursue my dreams, to continue to further my education, and to merge my passions with my profession.

I’m thankful for you – my readers. The support and encouragement that I have received since launching this blog a few months ago is more than I could have ever imagined. I continue to be astounded by the sense of community that exists within the blogosphere. Whether you have read one post or all of my posts, THANK YOU. You truly are what keeps this new hobby of mine going.

And last but not least, I’m thankful for my loving and supportive taste tester fiancé (yes, fiancé!!) who continues to put up with me encourage me.

Hi, hello, how are you?! Long time no talk. Sorry for going MIA over the past few weeks, but between school, traveling back and forth to NY, and – ya know – life in general, the whole blog thing took a backseat.

But apparently the world kept spinning while I was gone because suddenly it’s mid-November and Thanksgiving is next week! NEXT WEEK. How did this happen?? (This is not a rhetorical question – I legitimately want to know.)

If you know me at all, then you know that I have a major sweet tooth. I’m the girl that will leave part of her dinner untouched, and yet jump at the first mention of dessert. I like to think that I have a second stomach and it’s reserved exclusively for dessert.

That being said, It should come as no surprise that I was a fan of baking long before I was a fan of cooking. In fact, it wasn’t until a few years ago that I finally began to experiment with dishes that DIDN’T revolve around sugar. These days, I tend to spend more time cooking than baking (probably a good thing considering cupcakes are probably not the most nutritious dinner option), but you’d better believe I still take advantage of any opportunity to bake up some sweet treats.
